Hey friends, we've started a PeerTube channel on the lovely @tilvids instance. We will be sharing some security tips and tricks, best practices and how to use Bitwarden.
Please do let us know what you think as we go along, including what you might like to see or what we could to better.
lazygit greatly simplifies complex Git tasks through a familiar and readable interface. Simple actions like pushing and pulling are done in a single keypress, with branching and commiting done in a few keypresses. lazygit greatly assists in complex operations like rebasing, where commits can be looked over and attended to in seconds.

A new version of K-9 Mail is out! 🎉
Version 6.200 adds the big feature you've been waiting for: OAuth 2.0 support for Gmail, Yahoo, AOL and personal Microsoft accounts.
The new version is currently rolling out in stages to our Google Play users. You should expect an available update by the end of the week.
Using @fdroidorg? Expect it to arrive there very soon.

The first toot isn't very informative, but I'll link to it anyway as it is the start of a thread, which is worth reading:
LWN article: https://lwn.net/Articles/899530/
"a broader conversation [about the ethics of AI-assisted software] seemed unlikely to alter your [SFC's] stance, which is why we [GitHub] have not responded to your [SFC's] detailed questions"
Says it all.
#Copilot is basically selling code that other people wrote, without providing them with any compensation nor credits, and disregarding any possible license incompatibilities.
And #Github will probably get away with it because the whole thing is "AI-curated", so no human purposefully violated any intellectual property.
What leaves me speechless is that Github is making so much profit out of other people's open-source code, and they also claim that in a couple of years "there will be no more code sitting on local machines", but they are very, very wary from releasing THEIR own source code (like Gitlab and Gitea did) so people can run their own instances.
I'm still on Github because that's where all the devs and projects are. But all of my projects are now on a self-hosted Gitlab instance, mirrored to Github (and I'm even considering dropping that mirror). If you don't want Github to get rich from your code while giving you nothing in return, you should probably do the same.

Getting Started with Email Aliasing (and Six Services Compared!)
Something a bit different today...
There's a really nice Fediverse admin on here called @stux who provides lots of free decentralised public services (public instances of Mastodon, PeerTube, Pixelfed, Matrix, Nitter, Invidious, Searx etc).
Stux is spending hundreds of euros a month so that these services remain free and operational.
Apparently Stux has had a tough time finding work recently, but has their own small business which provides web hosting.
If you're looking for a small indie hosting provider, this might be a really good choice as the money raised will help keep the Fedi going too:
(I'm sorry to embarass you Stux, but I think you deserve a shout-out for the good work you do!)
Just in case you didn't know:
#GIMP, #Krita @krita, #Inkscape @inkscape, #Scribus and many other great graphics tools are already available - free/libre to use, free to improve, free to share. Check them out! 💙
#CodebergPages v3 is live. Apart from heavy refactoring for future-proof development, we now support custom 404 Error Pages.
Just add a 404.html to your repo, and we'll show it each time you forgot to update a link 😉
