ok so alongside the brief stint on Bluefin and borrowing more stuff from it, I also switched Zeliblue over to use the fsync kernel à la Bazzite
there's no "custom kernel" module in BlueBuild right now, but we do have a containerfile module, so, here's how that's going: https://github.com/zelikos/zeliblue/pull/256
biggest motivation for switching to the fsync kernel was testing out the scx schedulers (https://github.com/sched-ext/scx)
I haven't done any proper benchmarking yet, but upon some brief testing of scx_lavd, I've actually seen noticeable framerate improvements in some games
the rest of this night is probably gonna be spent doing a lot of testing
also not completely sure if it's the fsync kernel, scx_lavd, or combo of both, but input lag in FFXIV also feels like it's noticeably reduced. i don't have any way to actually properly measure that, but something about it for sure has felt different as I've been playing tonight
@Akzel how's inter working out for you?
@jorge Been using it for months and haven't had any issues with it myself. I like it a lot more than Cantarell and Ubuntu's font
I know GNOME is looking into switching over to it too (https://gitlab.gnome.org/Teams/Design/initiatives/-/issues/152), but looks like there's some things they want to address first which they weren't able to in time for 47
@Akzel Yeah I'm going to switch bluefin to it for F41, it looks really nice.
