Planted from seeds at the beginning of July. Can they fruit before the cold weather kicks in? We are going to find out.

this is my wall planter of alpine strawberry plants. This is on the back door of the landing of my 2nd floor apt. This variety does well in total shade. If I had a sunny wall, I would have planted regular strawberries. My point is that while it is stupid to imagine that we can grow our own food, or even a significant portion, most of us can grow something. In the aggregate that will make a big difference in the hard times to come.
