I've been asked recently about what cameras I use when . I've also seen a few tweets, including a road.cc article today, by complete coincidence (really!)

Here's what I use, some pros and cons, and why I run cameras in the first place!

The next edition of the Fiets Podcast has just arrived! As promised, looking at a poor evaluation of current cycling in Bedworth; elitist views of "proper cyclists" and whether imperfect infrastructure is better than nothing; WCC's LCWIP in consultation.

If you wish to subscribe in a podcast app, search for "fiets cycle". If you like what you hear then please share, and if you want to support the podcast/website then any help is gratefully received over at ko-fi.com/bicycleben

Following the acquisition of a bit of land near the George Eliot Hospital, plans are afoot to improve infrastructure for a short stretch of College Street in . But will it be shared use, or will it be separated?

Warning letter issued to this driver - close pass a few days back on a two-lane road. What you can't really see due to a rear camera issue (user error) was the driver tailgating me before squeezing past. Terrible driving.

Over on the the blog today - do the plans for the new Physical Activity Hub really properly enable sustainable, car-free travel? Just how wrong can a consultant be with its evaluation?

In case you missed yesterday's release of the latest edition of The Fiets Podcast, it's also now available on YouTube - you can gaze at some of Nuneaton's streets whilst listening to my musings! youtu.be/YxSVaj9llZY

Increasing fuel costs is undoubtedly painful; it's also necessary. The price of driving needs to be better reflected at the pumps. Drivers can ease the financial pressure by leaving the car behind for shorter journeys, sharing vehicles, not idling, and practicing economical driving behaviours.

The latest edition of the Fiets Podcast has just been released, where I rather lay in to the recent edition of Countryfile!

Available now at popular Podcast sources (Spotify, Apple, Google, Amazon, TuneIn etc.) and at the website: fiets.uk/2022-06-01/fiets-podc

Oh yes! May's target hit, and 400 miles exceeded for only my second time ever! And a day to spare too!

@normandc Nasty! I know all about pins and physio - I had them in my leg during my teens, with a great big frame around it. Not an injury though; an attempt to lengthen it. That's what caused my bad knee that doesn't bend much. Similarly though, it's been years. It is what it is now - just one of those things!

@normandc Sorry to read that - and yes, very frustrating. Hope your finger recovered okay.

@normandc Last May's mileage. If it's less this year by one mile, it'll annoy me!

Higham-on-the-Hill is getting into the Jubilee spirit I see, with their knitted decorations, as I get another 20 miles in towards my minimum May target of 401 miles - just 30.2 miles to go!

Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council has put out a statement asking people to choose alternatives to the car in the upcoming event on Saturday - but without enabling alternatives in the first place, asking people to use them is next to meaningless!

(Another article on the same day as a podcast? This is very unlike me!)
