Interesting article, very vivid story of the ebb and flow of its occupants. It's really nice to dig through the history of a particular lot, especially when its uses change so wildly.
Such a shame that "ephemeral" things get forgotten, but this is all the more reason to be grateful that people document them.

We’re not doing effectively this with a whole lot more automation, but the content itself is siloed in most cases. I’ve had conversations with drivers who record their trips and post them to OSM for analysis and feature identification and they’d love for there to be an OpenStreetView but not economical imo https://1940s.nyc/
