While the US State Department recommends people “reconsider” travel to Mexico because of the coronavirus, and #nonessential travel across land borders is still restricted, discounted flights have been tempting Americans throughout the pandemic.

Mexico has 5,752 new known coronavirus cases and 485 additional deaths, bringing the nation’s total to 408,449 cases and 45,361 fatalities, the health ministry reported on Wednesday.
