Canada signed a purchase agreement with Lockheed Martin in June 2023 to purchase 88 F-35s & has already paid for 16 of those. But given the uncertainty of the US remaining as an ally, Canada is questioning the dependence on the US for major maintenance, overhaul & software upgrades on the aircraft, which happen in the US.
Canada is now looking into canceling the remainder of the order and buy Swedish-built Saab Gripen fighters instead.
@MNSpy Erstwhile allies should definitely cut all ties to the U.S. DIB that they are able to. That will help put a lot of pressure on the lawless regime. DIB wants to make money and this will cause it to squeal.
