BLENDER 3.0 | Blender.Today LIVE #148 https://video.blender.org/videos/watch/cdc4e2d5-3ae9-4324-a384-fcc912ebde6a
Talking & connecting is a basic human need, so why should we allow our online interaction to be seized by companies that (by commercial design) are after personal data? Especially for public services like national/European administration citizens deserve to connect in a way that serves them, instead of data-hungry third parties.
NGI Zero is happy to announce a series of webinars and a workshop organized together with the #ActivityPub-community & #fediverse-devs on April 19, 26 and 29.

GNOME 40 - The biggest update to GNOME since GNOME 3, and probably the best one https://tilvids.com/videos/watch/ef17153e-c21c-4ee5-8258-bbd6bf873a34
Also, I feel obligated to mention the Fediverse's Reddit alternative - Lemmy (https://lemmy.ml/)
I use it every now and then, it seems interesting!
Got a glimpse of the dangers of centralisation today!
The subreddit r/ukpolitics briefly went private after a user was banned for posting a link concerning a minor political figure - Aimee Challenor.
It turns out Aimee Challenor is (was?) a Reddit admin. Any mention of her or her controversies (even in private message!) can result in a permanent ban from Reddit.
Scary stuff... obviously blowing back in their faces, but still!

Every instance on the Fediverse has its own set of rules written by the people who run that instance.
If you disagree with them, you can move to another instance with different rules.
This is how the Fediverse differs from centralised social media such as Twitter/Facebook/IG, there is no single group or person with power over everyone.
On Mastodon, you can see your instance rules by clicking on the "About this server" link in the bottom left.
There's an official manual for Mastodon at the following link:
It covers a wide range of topics, and is intended for users, admins, developers and contributors.
The developers' section also includes technical details of how Mastodon works.
(You can also get to this manual by clicking on the "Documentation" link in the bottom left corner of the web interface.)
