i haven't read what you linked, so not sure if it's mentioned... i think it's unfortunate people are 'primed' so when out-of-context quotes are used or shared they jump towards harsh words and bigotry.
it's like the sentiment is latent, waiting, and folks are waiting for an excuse to let it out. i think if that wasn't the case then even if out-of-context the worst wouldn't be assumed..
