You don't need to use other people's servers on Mastodon or the Fediverse. Anyone can set up their own server, even non-technical people. It's much easier than you think, and much cheaper too.

I was in the shower, washing my hair for, like, the third time because ADHD and I was convinced I hadn't washed it...

I just couldn't take it any more, and clocked out from work early yesterday. We are seriously understaffed on 1st shift. The two days before that, I had been leaving work mentally battered and bruised.
Today, the brakes on my car started grinding. I get to take it in bright and early to the mechanic, leave it, and walk home. More money I don't have. At least I live walking distance from the garage.
I am waiting for nightfall to go check the mail because the sun is trying to kill us.
