I have the AirPods charged, and ASMR tuned via YouTube. All I have to do now is think how I’m going to write about the Masonic shenanigans in our church.

I don't like to dwell on difficult times, but there are often lessons that can be shared.

I wonder if I would be good at speed dating with these 10 things people like but I don’t? alanmarsden.me/10-things-peopl

@tewha I guess I’ll have to make do with the heat from two laptops.

On today’s lunchtime walk, I’m looking homeward through an old rusty gate.

I’m not entirely convinced that working from home is a significant expense for employees. There are savings from commuting, eat out lunches and take-away coffee. I estimate my savings are over £200 a month, which should help with additional home heating.

Today I’m grateful for completing a developer’s twenty-minute task in just under two days. I’ve changed my MicroBlog site to a version of Hello, without breaking anything. Possible early signs of Themeiosis; a condition known to cause bloggers to tweak their site constantly.

Another October 24th has come and gone. Yesterday marked 11 years since Dad was able to visit our home. Birthday’s have mixed emotions now because I remember that last meal we had together and I can’t believe it was 2009.

Well, this is nice. It’s just after 12-noon, and I’m watching Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, and still in my pyjamas just like Arthur Dent.

I feel disappointed at the sight of the new iPhone 12 and 12 Pro being drop tested. The destruction of £1800 worth of technology is such a waste. I’ve had to think long and hard about taking out another two-year payment plan, yet vloggers are smashing the phones for views. youtube.com/watch?v=fQc2jW_A3i

@jemostrom It is, and some people would still try to steal it.

@cdevroe It is a fantastic achievement to keep going for so long.

@alangmarz Really glad you like the model we went with!

You can find some (slightly outdated) discussion on what people think about the #WriteFreely app over on our forum: discuss.write.as/t/writefreely

Otherwise I just wanted to mention that we do plan to support the publishing API that iA Writer works with (Micropub). But if you need full blog management / cross-device syncing (not just publishing), we'd still recommend our app.

@Gina It can't have been pleasant, but I hope you get a negative result.

James Altucher. Is he right or wrong about voting?

I have often thought voting is a waste of time because the powerbrokers have it all sewn up. No matter who wins, a nation simply swaps one set of problems for another. jamesaltucher.com/blog/why-i-w

@groff I’ve been amazed at how many Americans have been voting two weeks before the election date. We have never had people queueing at the polls here in the UK.

WriteFreely or @write_as (I get them confused) released an iOS app for their blogs. Has anyone tried the new app? iA Writer works with various platforms, so I’m curious? Kudos though to the developers for using a pay-once model instead of a subscription. blog.writefreely.org/writefree

@Gargron I love french toast. Especially with bacon and maple syrup.
