Tom<p>My son has a friend over, and he saw a USB thumb drive laying on my desk and asked me if it had Linux on it<br><br>Rather surprised, I told him yes (because installing Linux is the only thing I use thumb drives for) and asked why he assumed that.<br><br>He rather sheepishly told me he has a collection of thumb drives containing Linux that he uses to boot to and bypass controls on school and other computers he has to use<br><br>The kids are all right</p>

Took me at least 10 hour to realize I had to not mount the external drive in the user directory. Now I don't have to carry around an external drive in my home.</p>

What I CAN do is get involved in local fights that are winnable and will rob the coup of some of its power down the road.</p><p>Hence: I hand out ICE Raid flyers, I promote local protests against the administration of the Seattle Children’s Hospital, and I emotionally, spiritually, and materially support people around me so their morale doesn’t break.</p><p>Fretting about things you genuinely cannot impact in favor of doing things actually within your power to do is you wasting time. So is you distracting yourself from the problem and avoiding the feelings. So is you convincing yourself you are helpless and surrendering when you in fact are not.</p><p>There is no act of resistance too small as long as it is effective. </p><p>The cogs of this death machine do not turn unless enough of us choose to turn them.</p>
