Which are some items in your checklist when you launch a new server? I'm writing a blog post and as a basic I go for:
- Disabling SSH with password and root access
- Firewall configuration
- Fail2ban or other sort of protection.
@betoissues You forgot the most important part: setting up a fancy colorful shell prompt to flex on all the imaginary people looking over my shoulder.
@betoissues I make a prompt segment show the hostname, and make it only show if $SSH_CONNECTION isn't set.
@Seirdy I should... do that. Forget my previous idea 😅
This is a brand new server run by the main developers of the project as a spin-off of mastodon.social 
It is not focused on any particular niche interest - everyone is welcome as long as you follow our code of conduct!
