@continuation @hugh i saw someone else mention that if you thread you can make the first one public and then the replies unlisted - seems like a good idea.

Not spamming the TL and letting people opt in seems nicer.

I’m definitely going to try it out, but I was thinking also that isn’t it true hashtags aren’t searchable unless they’re in posts marked as public? This would mean making sure the first post had all the tags in it. Or maybe even better would be making the last post in the thread public too and summarizing all the relevant tags there…
