After the recently featured smaller MG ZR and MG ZS, here, to complete the set is the Rover 75-based MG ZT. The 75/ZT isn’t itself part of the small Triumphs and Rovers branch of the BL family tree covered in this sequence of posts but it does, as I shall explain, become relevant to the story later on. The ZT was also available in ZT-T estate form. I captured this lovely ZT saloon/sedan at the NEC Classic Car Show in 2023.
@davidwilkins I don't think I ever saw the estate version. Probably quite fun.
Whoever owns this one knows how to polish!
@davidwilkins and SAIC was shy with the Roewe 750, the sister car of this one...with only a KV6 version and the 2 K1.8
That's how SAIC learned many things before the MG comeback
@icemanfr75 I’ve never been to China but I saw one of those at I think Challenge Bibendum in Berlin in 2011.
It was weird seeing this familiar but unfamiliar car that was a Rover 75 but somehow wasn’t!
@davidwilkins it was not a big deal in China. Just one car seen in Beijing when VW was in the lead. It seems so far..
