block recommendation (spam instances, right-wing agitprop, antivax, etc)
A group known as "fightbigtech" has been creating a ton of spammy instances full of rightwing agitprop.
Here's a list of the ones I could find:
I would recommend general suspicion of any .icu domain, seeing as they're cheap — don't autoblock them, but perhaps check their content if they show up.
As suggested* by @zoe I add the following "fightbigtech" PeerTube's instances to the list:
- katiehopkinspolitical .icu
- voicenews .icu
- antivaxxer .icu
- theduran .icu
- censorship .icu
- political .icu
live presented slideshows are mostly done in unproductive ways imo
the slideshow is a visual aid for what you're saying. and i really mean both words in that
it should have a minimum number of words on it. more pictures and plots and visualizations. have a few words. if you have no visualization for a part insert a blank slide. the slides should not distract people's attention significantly away from you and what you're saying
the slideshow is not the main part of your presentation. it *helps present it* but the main part of the presentation is what you say and how you say it. focus on that. you should be able to give your full presentation without any slides
@amandag also Firefox' devtools (F12) have a useful accessibility tab, which can check all the color contrasts on your page as well :D
If you're styling a website, don't forget to check if you have accessible degrees of contrast in your color palette. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines provides good definitions to follow, and there are lots of handy tools that calculate rates of contrast and if they're sufficient. Here's one of them: https://webaim.org/resources/contrastchecker/
Certain posts I'm seeing make me want to write a fic about some brave anon turning himself in to one of Antifa's secret forcefemme facilities that are definitely going to be built by the Biden administration. He of course insists to himself that he doesn't WANT to be forcefemmed. He just wants to take up a space in the facility so it can't be used on someone else.
"I'm doing this to save America" he continues to insist as he applies another day's gel to his ever-smoothing skin

Not only makes adding your art to @jeremy you an awesome person, but I get to see your art displayed above my desk when the bot generates a mutation from it.
Ein Artikel über Linken Diskurs und ein Aufruf zu mehr Empathie, mehr Toleranz der Unvollkommenheit gegenüber, für konstruktive Kritik und für eine bessere Kommunikation.
Since @lrhodes just recently suggested that there should be a feature to hide inaccessible posts, and @gemlog reminded me today that folks might not even realize their names and toots might be hard for some people to read unless they are told, I guess it is my duty now to write another round of educational posts.
Hmm, this isn't really my area of expertise ... maybe I should just go find some old one and reboost?
Nah, let's do this.
In this thread, I'll list a couple suggestions for #Accessibility adjustments you can do to help out people who are #Blind, #VisuallyImpaired, or those who for other reasons use a #ScreenReader. Boosts appreciated!
