Made some végé pâté for the first time on the boat, without an oven, and it was HEAVENLY.

This is the normal recipe: grimgrains.com/site/vege_pate.

For the stovetop version, I put all the ingredients in an oiled cast iron pan, cooked it for 5 min med heat with the top on, than flipped it, cooked the other side (same time), and THEN went to bury it in a bin with blankets & cushions, and let it slow cook for 4 hours.

Pan was still hot when I opened it. Fan-tas-tic!

I was just reading through "The Poisoned Chalice of Hashtag Activism" (catalyst-journal.com/vol4/no2/) and came across this priceless quote:
"Of course Twitter is a place to make friends, but so is a foxhole — and of course it can be a soothing comfort to the masses, but so are opioids"

The word "bear" is thought to be the oldest known euphemism. It originated as as alternative to saying the true, taboo name of the animal, when it was thought that saying this name could summon the creature's wrath. The leading theory about the word's origin is that it derived from the proto-indo-european ǵʰwḗr, meaning wild animal.

The real word for bear derives from the proto-indo-european h₂ŕ̥tḱos. From this, we get the ancient greek ἄρκτος (árktos). Because Ursa Major (the bear-like constellation) is towards the north, it's from this root that we get "arctic", which basically means "land of the bears".

Speaking of Ursa, that's also derived from the proto-indo-european word for bear, h₂ŕ̥tḱos. It became orssos in proto-italic and ursus in Latin.

Just been getting an old t420s set up and I wrote a little script to randomly set a theme for the day with pywal; does anyone have any good resources for desktop images?

Just watched the trailer for after finishing the first book and I am so excited!
:D

Just finished reading "Demian" by Herman Hesse.
I found it really interesting, and now feel the need to read some Nietzsche

Bleh, today was not a productive day. Did some brainstorming for (rethinking my game idea), but didn’t really get much done :(

First update up for is up on my site (spoiler, it's just me saying I'm only going to be able to actually to gamedev on weekends and Wednesdays). Anyway, have a good night all of my fellow U.S.-west-coasters, and hopefully I'll have some fun updates for tomorrow
