Greek composer Mikis died yesterday in Athens at 96. His long-time friend Asteris Koutoulas (Berlin) describes him as a who saw as "to think with/of the audience/listener".
Theodorakis is loved by the Greek through all levels of society & has world-wide recognition all the way into Hollywood.
I had the pleasure to be a player of "Mauthausen" in Washington's Holocaust Memorial w/ his long-time voice Maria Farantouri 1999.
A big loss.
Sail on lightly, Mikis.
