Are you getting a bit annoyed by the rubbish articles that repeat the misleading idea that there are only a few alternatives to Goodreads?

Well, here's a live list of book and reading services I've discovered!

So... Thunderbird would like to support Activity Pub.

Anyone in the Fediverse wanna work on that?

The folks at @fsf are holding #LibrePlanet and there are plenty of great talks on today.

Hop on over to the conference site and support them 👍

I like Fosstodon, but the userbase seems to be slanted towards dev / programmer users, and at best I only know a tiny bit of coding 😆

I'm looking for recommendations for a new instance to move to. Preferably based on the following interests:

1. Books / literature
2. FOSS / Linux / Open source
3. Writing

Ordered a batch of Brandon Sanderson books to tide me over a bit. Some of my friends have been raving over his books for ages, so I thought I'd see what all the fuss is about.

:boost_ok: :ablobcatwave: Please boost this post if you would like the EFF to join the fediverse. :ablobcatbongo:

In a survey the EFF sent me, I suggested they create an account on the fediverse, so they can reach more supporters and support innovative free software that promotes interoperability among platforms, something they've advocated for in the past, too.

If you can boost this post, maybe I'll be able to show them that there are quite a few users who would like them here!

The EFF is the infamous nonprofit organisation that fights for privacy, government transparency, and digital freedom. Their fight is very important, and the EFF is very special to me. https://www.eff.org/about https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_Frontier_Foundation

You can see some of their work here https://www.eff.org/work

In the meantime, you can follow @eff, which is an unofficial mirror of their Twitter.

Very glad to see so much interest in translating #Metatext. Interested in seeing which localization management software the community likes most:

I think it’s time I jump back into the fantasy genre after years of avoiding it. (I was a *huge* fan when I was younger.)

It’s a good time to give Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive a go, seeing that I’m about to watch his writing lectures.

Being still relatively new to Mastodon, this is something I am genuinely curious about:

Do you have Mastodon accounts on multiple instances?

#Metatext 1.0.0 is live in the App Store!

Metatext is a free, open source Mastodon client for iOS. It remembers your home timeline position, has a searchable emoji picker, and many more great features.
