Michael Busch

I really do not need campaign fundraising texts from Democratic politicians right now.

I would like "this is what we are doing about the current crises" notices instead.

Anyone who shows up in the replies suggesting that we should not demand that an opposition party actually act to oppose to horrific & escalating harm gets reported and blocked.

@michael_w_busch I don’t need fundraising texts from them, ever. Emails are bad enough.

@mwyman It is just especially appalling nearly as far out from an election as one can be and in the middle of several different major crises including an attempted coup.

@michael_w_busch @mwyman

Subj: Case Yellow means we need your money more now than ever!

》Guderian & von Manstein have BYPASSED the Maginot Line and without you lining my coffers, they'll surely take Paris by July!

》DONATE HERE: $5 $15 $25 $Other

- Dems in 1940 France probably.

@michael_w_busch it's just so tone deaf considering what's going on.

@michael_w_busch

There are signs of life since yesterday.

AOC.

Chris Murphy.

Jamie Raskin.

Hakeem Jeffries.

It’s not well coordinated, but it’s not nothing.

Lift up the voices of the bold. Press the rest to act.

@xankarn One of the fundraising texts I got today presented itself as being from a PAC associated with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

I trust that that was in no way actually connected to the Representative.

@michael_w_busch I signed up for messages from the Clinton campaign so I could learn a little about US politics. I recall hundreds that said, roughly, "They're bad people: I need a dollar". I don't remember any policy material at all...

@michael_w_busch I should add that I've continued to receive messages from campaigns since. Still asking for a dollar (I'm not a citizen, so can't donate). Still no sign of policy. Ot blows my mind!

@michael_w_busch

Any dem who uses the current shit show as a fund raising prompt needs take a long hard look at themselves. Seriously, you need more money to do the fucking job you got elected to do?

@michael_w_busch

But thinking about what to do is hard, and that AI stuff costs a fortune to run, and you wouldn't want us to do anything else genocidal would you?

@michael_w_busch

I’ll ‘give’ you something when you ‘do’ your fucking job you ass-hat.

@michael_w_busch

Especially since a couple of the people I've been donating to voted in FAVOR of Trump nominees wtaf??

@michael_w_busch I have never sent so many "STOP" messages as I have today 😆

@michael_w_busch That ship sailed a long time ago. Somewhere around the beginning of the Biden administration, when everything that could be done about the coup attempt and SCOTUS just wasn’t done. Inaction in the face of fascism is their brand.

@michael_w_busch
I got an email today from "Choose Democracy" that said, I kid you not,

"join with us on Wednesdays for a moment of silence to catch our breaths and reflect, pray, meditate, or just honor the hurt and suffering due to the current administration and the damage they are causing to this country and around the globe."

A moment of silence for FFS? What kind of kum ba yah bullshit is this? I don't want to catch my breath. I want to breathe fire.

@shansterable man. the Democratic Party should be holding marksmanship classes and distributing radio handling technical brochures at this time.

@shansterable

"Choose Democracy" is not part of the Democratic Party apparatus.

The critiques that may be made of them are not the same as saying that Democratic politicians need to do their jobs.

@michael_w_busch I have replied to one of my senators with messages to actually do something for a while now. Never any response.

@michael_w_busch I HAVE been donating - to orgs that are taking action, and to independent media that are speaking truth to power. Not to anyone who just says "look, isn't this bad? So give us money."

@michael_w_busch Because the best way to fight billionaires is to sit around whining about fundraising for Democrats. Yep, the South African
Tech guys know their penny pincher opponents to a T. Lol.

@michael_w_busch It's not just annoying and clueless.
The whole process of fundraising and "marketing their message" is just not a winning game for the D's.
They need a better way to connect with people
