America is no longer a trustworthy ally. It would be unsafe to buy military hardware from them. Meanwhile, all the US's former allies will need to double their defence spending, buying jets, tanks, missiles, etc., from non-US democracies.
@Nigel_Purchase Noteworthy: Jarlov is a Danish conservative. They would traditionally argue for very close alignment with the US. A shift like this is seismic.
@SuneAuken I wonder if this is actually coordinated with the government - he can say things that they can’t (and he’s not running for reelection)
I haven't the foggiest.
But to my thinking he does everyone, including the Danish government, a lot of good by being so outspoken.
@SuneAuken @sorenhave I doubt it's coordinated with the government, who even now are still supporting the idea of US bases in Denmark and their totally unrestricted access to do wtf they want. I do think Jarlov's message a very popular viewpoint, and I think the conservatives could win a great deal of votes from it.
