IMPORTANT: if you misgender me, but then correct yourself, I consider your correction to ALSO be an apology! No need to feel guilty, ashamed, or say "sorry." It's important to focus on the positive momentum (using the right pronoun), and celebrate that success together. Doing so creates a positive association with the correct pronoun in your mind, which will actually increase the likelihood of using it again in the future!

If you're training someone to do something new, and they do something the old way, then immediately correct themselves to do it the new way, you don't punish them. You lift them up.
