Good day, I am Sprout. I am interested in self-improvement, journaling, reading (mostly nonfiction), FOSS software, & privacy. I'm fairly new to the last two so I'm always on the lookout for things I can learn.

Finished reading Thirst of Love by Yukio Mishima today. A great reminder that life is never black & white.

I went down the Instagram rabbit hole for a while. I think it’s time to pull myself out from it. Its cons never manage to surpass its pros, even if it appears that way initially.

Can you believe I had completely forgotten clouds moved? We truly become blind to those things we take for granted.

The urge to get rid of everything except the essentials is real. Very real.

@joeycastillo just unveiled a redesign of The Open Book! Also seems like they just got an account here recently so give them a follow if you are into #OSHW

Okay, time for a new #poll. How many different #web #browser do you use across all your devices? IE, #phone, #tablet, #laptop #computer, #desktop, etc.

And I mean all different browsers: #Chrome (and chrome variants), #Edge, #Safari, #Firefox (and Libre Wold, Seamonkey, etc.), #Vivaldi, #Opera and all others.

As always: please boost so we get some really good data.

Oh lovely a mandatory update for my book reader.

I can't wait to see all the new words I'll be able to read with updated software.

“You have the right to work, but never to the fruit of work. You should never engage in action for the sake of reward, nor should you long for inaction. Perform work in this world, Arjuna, as a man established within himself—without selfish attachments, and alike in success and defeat.”
- Sri Krishna

I specifically find intriguing how Confucius basically says, “Who knows if spirits exists or not. Let’s just take this seriously & believe in it while we perform this ritual.” In a wiser way, of course. It’s important to point out that in this case, ritual means a moment in which we change our behavior, not a ritual as you might think.

I’ve been taking a course on Confuncianism & Mohism. It’s incredible how humans try to give their life meaning & how that can tie to their religion (or lack of).

I’ve never considered myself a “creative person” but lately I’ve come to understand that it’s due to the fact that I’ve never tried. My goal this year (a little late for a new year’s resolution, hm?) is to explore ways in which I can incorporate creativity into my everyday life. Life is too incredible to not stop & ponder upon it, it’s too beautiful to not stop & capture a moment or two in a picture, a drawing, a poem…

Lately I’ve come to realize that I need to execute things not only on my computer, but on my real life too. There’s no point in learning anything if you don’t plan to use it, is there? Let this be a reminder that you need to put those useful lessons into practice. We can do it.

Attempt #1 at getting a flip phone has failed. I might have lost the battle but I will not lose the war.

It’s time for me to clear out my room & my desk. The clutter has become too distracting.

Mastodon does not serve ads, tracks you or sell your data❤️ That means server admins do net get any income from running a service and that's the point :cat_hug_triangle:

However we do need to pay the bills for the servers, media storage and email sending! See how you can contribute to your server admin to keep things running smooth :blobcatsnuggle: :mastodon: :fediverse:

If you would like to support me with, and all other services:

You can do so in the following ways :cathug:

Every little bit is a massive help, never say sorry for donating!❤️

Perhaps getting an Apple Watch is the way to go. I love normal watches but I’d love the convenience of tracking my running time effortlessly.
