Luddism was a working-class movement opposed to the political consequences of industrial capitalism. The Luddites wanted technology to be deployed in ways that made work more humane and gave workers more autonomy. The bosses, on the other hand, wanted to drive down costs and increase productivity.
Kymer's Canal, Kidwelly was begun in 1766 and used to transport coal from the Gwendraeth Valley. Later a railway was laid in the drained canal bed. This remnant of the canal is at Kidwelly. The reeds will be green soon and maybe there will be reed-warblers. I've seen them on the canal banks in the past.
