@thibaultamartin Oooooh indeed! If you're at FOSDEM you can chat with the team at our stand in Building K, level 1, B.7 about any of the positions this weekend.
@thunderbird very exciting!! Definitely gonna try my hand to see if there's a match for the UX Design position. Would be sooo cool!
@thunderbird is there a room for an unsolicited application in "Germany, Remote".
Very passionate about open-source and an excellent communicator!
@arabiccola Hey there! You can send your information to careers@thunderbird.net - and be sure to keep an eye on our careers page, as we'll be in hiring mode for a few months. (If you use Thunderbird as an RSS reader, our careers page has a feed you can subscribe to: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/careers/feed/ )
@thunderbird FYI, the job posting seems locked to US/CA/UK but the job description talks about “only west Europe time zones…”. Any chance it could be opened to Western Europe?
@teotwaki Unfortunately right now we're only hiring in the US, Canada, Germany, and the UK (where employees need to live and be eligible to work). So unfortunately we aren't able to open it to other countries in that time zone.
@thunderbird In that case, maybe this job posting (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/careers/position/gh/6583378/ ) needs to be updated to include Germany, and you might want to change the following phrasing:
> This role works closely with staff across Europe, US and Canada. Consequently, applicants in the Eastern Standard or Western European Standard time zones are strongly preferred.
Also, do you take contractors? I can invoice clients all over the world :).
@teotwaki Not all jobs are posted in all countries, and it really depends on the team and geographic need. But you can email careers@thunderbird.net with any other questions or feedback you might have!
@thunderbird Any chance you’ll consider applicants living in Mexico? I’d love to apply but wanted to ask first.
@edfloreshz Unfortunately that's a no right now. We're a small team and managing employees beyond the countries we hire in (which is the US, Canada, Germany, and the UK and employees need to be eligible to work in those places, not just live there) isn't something we're able to do.
@thunderbird Completely understandable! Thanks anyway
Maybe that could be mentioned in the OP?
It's a fairly big oversight when posting jobs to a global site, and all the details of restrictions end up being 3 clicks away.... you're not alone almost every job posting is the same.
There really needs to be a standard format for job postings that includes residency/eligibility.
@ahoneybun @thunderbird
ooh... looks interesting. i need to figure out how to write a cover letter, tho.
@Phipe @thunderbird vu mais il faut être en Amérique du Nord...
@Natouille @thunderbird
pas regardé jusque là moi....
marf
@thunderbird sounds really interesting, but the salary ranges posted on the iOS job are curious - the Canadian, UK, and German ranges are all similar while the US rate is much higher - by almost 70%. Is that correct? Would you be willing to pay a Canadian the American rate?
