This spectacular starscape taken by astronomer Gregg L. Ruppel, shows emission nebulae, some star clusters, and a crowded starfield located in the Constellation Orion. The large red cloud that occupies the center of the image is Sh2-268, a region of gas composed mainly of hydrogen and infrared emission that is ionized by the giagant star HD 42352.
