As much as I would like to use it, @libreoffice Impress is a horrible experience on MacOS. I have observed this with many FOSS applications - Inkscape, Libreoffice etc. They run much much better on Linux than they do on Mac/Windows. Just a case of not enough effort being put into other OSs due to lack of interest?
@vartak Hi! Nothing is due to a "lack of interest". It's almost always a lack of resources. Everyone wants improvements and new features in FOSS, but very few actually step up to implement them, or fund developers. We'd have much better macOS support if people give us a hand or fund developers: https://www.documentfoundation.org/certified-developers/
@libreoffice I’ll pay for Libreoffice what I pay for Microsoft Office if I was assured comparable quality. Does such a model not work ?
@gmc @libreoffice You are either trolling or have never used Microsoft Office and Libreoffice side by side on Windows/Mac.
@libreoffice @vartak I'm obligated to use ms office for the $dayjob on windows, and it is so horrible I just want to tear my eyes out every time it messes up things or loses data. For my own private and business use I use LibreOffice, as well as for my writing. So much better.
Can't say I use Impress much though.
