𝗣𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗘𝗻𝗴): Square-format image with a bee-eater as the main focus. The bird is perched with its back to a branch, but turns its head, revealing a juicy prey, a moth, in its long beak. The bee-eater is one of Europe's most colorful birds, with a wide range of striking colors: orange, iridescent green, red, yellow, black, and white. Also notable are its red eyes, elongated, curved beak, and long, narrow tail.

𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝗰𝗶𝗼́𝗻 (𝗘𝘀𝗽): Imagen de formato cuadrado con un abejaruco como principal protagonista. El ave está posada de espaldas en una rama, pero vuelve la cabeza y vemos que lleva en su largo pico una jugosa presa, una polilla. El abejaruco es una de las aves más coloridas de Europa, con una amplia combinación de colores muy llamativos: anaranjados, verdes irisados, rojos, amarillos, negros y blancos. Muy notorios son también sus ojos rojos, su pico largo y curvo, y su prolongada y estrecha cola.

Two colourful bee-eaters on a twig. The left one (presumably the female) in an aggressive semi-attacking position looking with beak open to the right (presumably male) bee-eater which sits in a defensive, retracting manner looking at the left one. The red eyes (especially on the left bee-eater pop out. This happened in a split second where I only could hope I pressed the button on the right moment. Luckily I did, bioth birds had flown on the next moment.

Streetartwall. A beautiful mural of a colorful bird is attached to a narrow, beige concrete pillar next to a main road. The self-designed bird sits upright on a branch and shows its long plumage with an open beak. It is a "European bee-eater", an approx. 30 cm tall bird with wings in the colors rust-brown, red, yellow, blue and turquoise. Above the yellowish chin is a black eye stripe and a red head section. The mural was created from thin, graphically curved lines and colorful areas and looks like a fine mosaic. Wonderfully realized and placed in the right spot.

The bird really gets its name from its favorite food. It often feeds on larger flying insects such as bees, grasshoppers or dragonflies, which it catches in the air.
