I’ve had a long history of Bluetooth on Linux, like everyone else, it’s like the devices just refuse to talk to each other.

So naturally, when I decided to give Blueman another shot on Debian 12 (Bookworm), my expectations were pretty low.

Imagine my surprise when it actually worked! Not only did it cooperate, but my WH-1000XM4 headphones connected wirelessly on the first try.

It’s like witnessing a rare celestial event, where Bluetooth finally behaving like it’s supposed to. Small victories, folks, small victories.

Random MAC address for anonymity

Ever feel like your phone is snitching on you? That’s because it probably is — at least, its MAC address is. In this deep-dive post, we explore how your devices quietly broadcast your identity through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and how you can fight back by randomizing your MAC address. From Linux laptops to iPhones and Androids, we break down how t

Hello folks. Do you know an #Android application I can use to turn Android phone into #bluetooth keyboard and mouse for a #Linux PC? I would prefer if the app is #FOSS

There are several options on Play Store. The only option which works as it should, is not free not as in freedom nor price. It's "Serverless bluetooth mouse and keyboard" or something.

There is also "Bluetooth Remote" in F droid but it's for Android TV and does not work on PC.

Boosts are very much appreciated.

huh, that's a new one. if my WH1000-XM5 headphones are paired to my phone and my laptop, but only connected to my laptop, if my phone's screen turns on (even without unlocking) and my phone's bluetooth is enabled (but, again, not connected to the headphones), within 12 seconds it will kill the connection between the headphones and my laptop

only relevant thing I can see in the sea of grapheneos's system logs is "BluetoothRemoteDevices: Update property, device=XX:XX:XX:XX:7F:DC, type: 3" but unsure if that means anything

super fucking annoying, this means if I even pick up my phone (which causes the screen to come on and some bluetooth shit to run), it'll kill the headphones' connection to another device when it's not even connected to the headphones in the first place.

same shit happens with headphones connected to steam deck - phone will cause them to disconnect merely because it's paired

I have official permission to teaser this:

strayer has been working on an update for the Taira split keyboard, and if the final test stage is successful, I‘m confident the release is imminent!

Bigger batteries, a nice!view for low power consumption visual feedback - and some 3d printables are in the making, too.

Can’t wait to get this soldered and running!

Tinkering with an old pair of headphones to test the validity of the Bluetooth board that cost me less that €1.50
and L-ion battery charging board was even less at 46c.
The Lithium-Ion battery was free, and came from a finished and disposed of vape!

HiFi Headphones I already own, but i am testing them with a ratty old set of headphones...The sound reproduction is superb. now to build the finished product, though my Heath Robinson setup works surprisingly well
