A serpentine masterpiece carved into limestone cliffs, winding its way down to the hypnotic blues of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
This is Via Krupp on the island of Capri — where every curve reveals another postcard-perfect view, and the dance of boats on the water feels like a living canvas.
A place where nature, history, and human craftsmanship meet in breathtaking harmony.

Down the rabbit hole researching cars again - as one does. Been on a kick of collecting brochures for the first generation Mercury Cougar, C3-C4-C5 Corvettes, first and second generation Camaro and Firebird, European Ford Capri, and Fiat X1/9.

I found it interesting that the Cougar brochures directly called the car a 'sports car'. I was surprised by this. It could be marketing mis-nomer or appropriation. Nowadays I think we consider these a muscle car or a GT car if you are of that mind set. But not 'sporty' per se.

I also read that they were successful in SCCA Trans Am racing. So much so that Ford pulled the plug on the Mercury racing team after the first season or two in order to allow the Mustang to prevail.

They are the same car under the skin - the only dynamic differences would be the longer wheelbase and the longer front and rear over hangs. Would affect high speed stability and polar moment of inertia I guess.

And finally, #GiuseppePatroniGriffi's Il mare (1962). An actor travels to #Capri. It's off-season and quiet, bar a restless young man who follows him around. Until, a woman arrives.

Capri was popular with the artistic #LGBT upper crust who would spend their winters there in relative privacy. The film plays with this hush hush subtleness; it's there for who wants to see.

letterboxd.comThe Sea (1962)A well known actor comes to off-season Capri to unwind and meets a young man. The attraction is immediate and mutual but before their relationship can get off the ground, an alluring woman with a spontaneous sexuality and care free attitude joins the triangle and the boy is slowly pushed out of the picture.
