CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.
Fire on #Cashmere Hills yesterday, started apparently by picnickers, swept an area of fifty acres [20 hectares], damaging thirty thousand young pine trees and blackwoods, owned by the City Council.

I got a lot of alpaca, goat and sheep wool yesterday during my sojourn into Harvard. The roving I bought at the alpaca farm was four times the price as that from the wool shop. I knew this as I bought it but it's important to support our local farms lest they vanish.
