If you'd like to try a spring craft activity with your child at home, why not have a go at making these flowers from old egg boxes? They can be cut in different ways to resemble different types of flower and then children can paint them their preferred colour and add tissue paper for embellishment.
Did you know the folklore that during Passover, frogs hop into the kitchens where bread is made, and even into the ovens! This has inspired lots of frog-themed activities at the nursery this week!
In recognition of Songkran (Thai New Year), our Piccolo children enjoyed some sensory play inspired by 'stupas', which are Buddhist temples found all across Thailand.
It's really important to us that children learn about where their food and drink comes from. A glove full of water was an ideal replica of a cow's udders, and the children loved having the chance to do some 'milking'!
This week, Sarah is sharing the sign for 'yes'. Imagine you're wearing a sock puppet on your hand and making it nod!

Hapa Zome, meaning "leaf dye" in Japanese, is a printmaking technique where natural pigments from leaves and flowers are transferred onto fabric or paper by pounding them with a hammer or mallet. Simply sandwich some leaves or flowers between 2 pieces of fabric and bash with a hammer until enough pigment has been released to dye it!
Eid Mubarak to everyone in our nursery family who celebrated this weekend!
Happy #MothersDay to all of our nursery mums and mother-figures.
The children have been busy making things for their mums all week, and asking educators to help them write what they love about their mummies the most. Listen to the audio for some of their answers!
In recognition of Mother's Day, this week's Makaton sign is for 'Mummy'. Simply tap the three middle fingers of one hand on the palm of the other hand twice, for each syllable of the word.
