Even if you trust one party not to abuse this, imagine when the other party gets into power! All of this is being leveraged on a "protect the children" basis where the legislative demands would be ineffective at preventing children from accessing the materials of concern, trample on the rights of adults to use the Net, and actually expose children to more risks from abusive parents. That's the bottom line.

Sadly the United States is already discussing similar legislation see #EarnItAct #Kosa and #RestrictAct. Not to mention that in order to be advertiser friendly they already demonetized a lot of topics that were deemed for an adult audience for example on Youtube.
The cloud act it doesn't matter in which data center your files are because the nsa can still look inside

Obviously if politicians have zero IT skills the laws are bad.

Yo quería escribir mis fics tranquilamente pero después de ver lo de la #EarnItAct y que tanto en USA como en la UE pretendan controlar todo lo que ponemos en internet pues ya no sé. Espero que quienes dicen que un control así es impracticable tengan razón, porque si no, se va a tratar de que sólo podamos usar el internet como consumidores y clientes, espero que ese día no llegue nunca.
