Java-GI 0.12 is now available! This release of the #Java language bindings for GObject-Introspection-based libraries upgrades the bindings to #GNOME 48, and offers a new, much cleaner API for creating a GObject-derived class in #Java.
Check out the [Release notes](github.com/jwharm/java-gi/rele), the [website](jwharm.github.io/java-gi/), and the [examples](github.com/jwharm/java-gi-exam).
Thanks to all people who contributed ❤️

dear GNOME community!!

I wanna ask, does anyone here have an update as to the Accessibility on Wayland work that GNOME was doing? I have not heard about it in a few months but I remember there being a pretty large grant to work on this, as well as a couple of GitLab threads but I've lost the links and haven't heard anything since

How's the involvement / discussion on that work going with other desktops?
How far along are we? Are there demos or Proof-of-Concepts yet?
Anything else cool that happened in this regard?

:boost_ok: Boosts appreciated!

EDIT: I've been given this link which neatly puts together some of the info I was looking for:

For anyone else out there looking for this, you're welcome! :D

Released a new version of Echo

Most notable changes in 2.2 / 2.3 are:

  • the spinner was moved next to the pinging button to allow for in and out transitions
  • there's a "no network connection" banner which took me almost an entire year to understand why it was not working :)
  • and upgraded the app to GNOME 48.

And of course Spanish and Turkish translations.

The rest are small tweaks. See here for full changelog: codeberg.org/lo-vely/echo/rele

Turns out homebrew does not support arm64 linux, even though when searching bottles, they report it’s supported. 🤷‍♂️ Just installed brew anyway and there is limited support, but it seems you still need to build many formulas locally. A PR on their GitHub mentions they hope to push out formal support this year, which is cool. Running a #slackware #gnome #flatpak #homebrew arm64 VM is kinda wild on so many levels. 😂

[PROJET] #Gedit simple snippets

I like #Gnome, but sometimes I find it a bit unintuitive. I wanted to change my profile picture and had to go to Settings -> System -> Users -> Profile Picture. I have no idea about design stuff. Maybe that makes a lot of sense to hide the setting there.

But in the end you won't please anyone. That's why this post is not meant in a bad way.
