🕊️ La vanagloria y la gloria | Filipenses 2:3-11

En Filipenses 2:3-11 se nos enseña a no hacer las cosas por egoísmo o vanagloria, sino a actuar por amor a otros, pues esa es la verdadera gloria. Como ejemplo, se nos presenta el ejemplo de Jesús al despojarse de sí mismo por amor a nosotros y la gloria que recibió al sentarse a la diestra de Dios Padre en su majestad.

Gloria: It is literally impossible to be a woman. You are so beautiful and so smart, and it kills me that you don't think you're good enough. Like, we have to always be extraordinary, but somehow we're always doing it wrong. You have to be thin, but not too thin. And you can never say you want to be thin. You have to say you want to be healthy, but also you have to be thin. You have to have money, but you can't ask for money because that's crass. You have to be a boss, but you can't be mean. You have to lead, but you can't squash other people's ideas. You're supposed to love being a mother but don't talk about your kids all the damn time. You have to be a career woman, but also always be looking out for other people. You have to answer for men's bad behavior, which is insane, but if you point that out, you're accused of complaining. You're supposed to stay pretty for men, but not so pretty that you tempt them too much or that you threaten other women because you're supposed to be a part of the sisterhood. But always stand out and always be grateful. But never forget that the system is rigged. So find a way to acknowledge that but also always be grateful. You have to never get old, never be rude, never show off, never be selfish, never fall down, never fail, never show fear, never get out of line. It's too hard! It's too contradictory and nobody gives you a medal or says thank you! And it turns out in fact that not only are you doing everything wrong, but also everything is your fault. I'm just so tired of watching myself and every single other woman tie herself into knots so that people will like us. And if all of that is also true for a doll just representing women, then I don't even know.

Gloria: Es literalmente imposible ser mujer. Eres tan hermosa y tan inteligente, y me mata que no creas que eres lo suficientemente buena. Siempre tenemos que ser extraordinarios, pero de alguna manera siempre lo estamos haciendo mal. Tienes que estar delgada, pero no demasiado. Y nunca puedes decir que quieres estar delgado. Tienes que decir que quieres estar sano, pero también tienes que estar delgado. Tienes que tener dinero, pero no puedes pedir dinero porque eso es una grosería. Tienes que ser un jefe, pero no puedes ser malo. Tienes que liderar, pero no puedes aplastar las ideas de otras personas. Se supone que te encanta ser madre, pero no hables de tus hijos todo el maldito tiempo. Tienes que ser una mujer de carrera, pero también estar siempre pendiente de los demás. Tienes que responder por el mal comportamiento de los hombres, lo cual es una locura, pero si lo señalas, te acusan de quejarte. Se supone que debes ser bonita para los hombres, pero no tanto como para tentarlos demasiado o amenazar a otras mujeres porque se supone que eres parte de la hermandad. Pero siempre destaca y agradece siempre. Pero nunca olvides que el sistema está manipulado. Así que encuentre una manera de reconocer eso pero también esté siempre agradecido. Nunca debes envejecer, nunca ser grosero, nunca presumir, nunca ser egoísta, nunca caer, nunca fallar, nunca mostrar miedo, nunca pasarte de la raya. ¡Es muy dificil! ¡Es demasiado contradictorio y nadie te da una medalla ni te da las gracias! Y resulta que en realidad no sólo estás haciendo todo mal, sino que además todo es culpa tuya. Estoy tan cansada de verme a mí misma y a todas las demás mujeres hacer nudos para agradarle a la gente. Y si todo eso también es cierto para una muñeca que simplemente representa a una mujer, entonces ni siquiera lo sé.
