A series of triple compartment slip-in boxes with lids for a new edition of artist books made by @annesas.

Each is made to hold a collection of three pairs of books. The books protrude at the front, which makes it easy to take them out and slip them back in. The title and the name of the artist are embossed blind on the side of the lid.

The boxes are covered and lined with grey Toile du Marais.

What I haven’t really been writing about on my page, are the materials I use. These pictures are a part of my collection of embroidery threads. I’ve been making small embroidery pieces over the last years. But it never really became more than that until last year. Before I just had a little bit of thread and embroidery wasn’t my creative medium. The last year, embroidery has become an essential part of my life and I started collecting thread. 🪡🧵

I was so lucky to inherit a collection from my partners great grandmother. It is such beautiful threads from the 50-60’s. I’ve also been lucky to find threads in second hand shops, and I found a little collection of threads with small notes attached about what projects the threads were used for - and it was projects from 1972. I enjoy how the history in these threads are embedded into my work of contemporary embroidery. 🌀

It is also important for me to make art of mostly reused/ secondhand materials. The same I do with my collages. Eco awareness and my responsibility is also a big part of my creative practice and life in general. 💙

The details in that beauty are great, I love all the structure. Lots of bobble stitches in variations. (.... though not as many as in my current WIP)
I remember I made this shawl for a MAL over on Ravelry (Make-Along) with the topic Earth and my inspiration was Sedona.
The pattern itself was also a CAL (Crochet Along) by the Designers, but I made it later. In any case - I love the composition of this pattern. Bonus - the yarn is from a small yarnwinder in my country. As small as our country is, that makes her local to me. :D

Open Veins of Latin America by Eduardo Galeano

Spine is Forest Green Allure Bookcloth from Hollanders. ArtDeco rose gold foil for the title was applied using a foil quill. Printed on wooqu ivory bookcloth for the cover. The map image is by John Speed, viewable in the Library of Congress online catalog. Endbands are handsewn with cosmo cotton embroidery floss.

For our fifth anniversary in 2021, I made these keychains for my partner and I (the custom bit is from Outerwonders on Etsy) but the little controller charm instantly broke so we both tucked our respective charms away. I had a new idea to make them into a rear-view mirror charm… I have a pretty solid idea, I’m just trying to track down all the parts. #diy #handmade

Each end of the cord has a small, circular metal disc that says “Player 1” and “Player 2” on each of the discs, with a letter G (a small controller symbol) and a letter M with a small heart at the bottom, and each disc has a bead corespondent to each of our birthstones— Garnet for my partner and Aquamarine for me. There are also photos directly on the canvas the sketch is on— one of a crochet strawberry rear-view window charm by Hookedonrue on Etsy that has the same design as my charm. There are also samples of the black keychain cord I plan on using. Lastly, there is a photo of the original keychain I made, my Player 1 disc with a cute plastic controller charm next to it on a keyring with text that says the metal disc was made by Outerwonders on Etsy.
