Ding Liren is the 17th Chess World Champion: “this match was the deepest reflection of my soul”.

Congrarulations to Chinese Grand Master Ding on becoming World Chess Champion.
I've seen a few people saying he only won because the previous champion, Magnus Carlsen, declined to play. I say, you got to be in it to win it!
I've seen a few people saying that the quality of the match wasn't as great as with Magnus involved. Well, even Magnus said this match was a different dynamic to his matches, where players tried to close positions down rather than take risks to keep the position alive.
I can't understand why people who are nowhere near as good as Ding are taking shots at him less than a day after he scores the biggest win of his life. He's World Champion, he played better overall chess than his opponent during the match which was a spectacular delight for the fans.
Great work Ding, and congratulations on becoming the 17th World Chess Champion!
Ha sido un campeonato increíble de principio a fin.

Ding Liren is the 2023 FIDE World Champion!
Ding prevailed over Ian Nepomniachtchi in the last rapid tie-break game and became FIDE World Champion!
Since everybody is talking about #Ding Liren being the First Chinese World Chess Champion - and I see that the press conference repeats this - it would be more accurate to say that he is the First Chinese *Male* World Chess Champion.
In 1991, Xie Jun defeated Maia Chiburdanidze and became the first Chinese Women's Chess Champion, ending over a decade of dominance by Soviet players. She kept the title until 1996.
Ding Liren is the new WORLD CHESS CHAMPION!!! What an amazing rollercoaster tiebreak game! https://lichess.org/broadcast/fide-world-chess-championship-2023/tie-breaks/jCs1wd0E/8QvKR1zU
Big thanks also to Ian Nepomniachtchi for an amazing match!
46...Rg6 was the key move. Fortune favours the brave! #NepoDing
Ding had the guts and the fighting spirit to play for a win in a basically drawn position, and not take the repetition that would have brought the Blitz phase of the tie-break. Bravo! What a courage in such a decisive situation! #NepoDing #Chess #WorldChessChampionship
Unbelievable!! #NepoDing
Ding Liren mistrzem świata w szachach klasycznych! Po 14 partiach w trybie klasycznym oraz 4 dogrywkowych rapidach w końcu przełamał Nepo, który po paru pierwszych rundach wydawał się "pewniejszy". Wow.
