Ode to Joy is a great anthem, it can be performed starting from a single instrument, somewhat timid, not quite yet sure of itself, but gradually joined by others, with their diverse sounds intermixing, becoming more confident, growing stronger, more assured of itself.
But then, a pause, a quieter moment, almost reflective, not quite if it should…

Some real joy for today to celebrate with, not of the confected/commercialised Xmas type ... Beethoven's "Ode To Joy" as a flashmob performed by Sabadell's orchestra. Every time I watch this I see more details, and beauty, and I tear up 
As an ardent European, they played this at Isabel's Irish citizenship ceremony, and it simply melts me. We are better together 
My best moment: imo so many but - the walk-on of the 2nd violin section at 02:20 as it builds, the music sweetens, the joy of the woman captured then at 02:35. Yours?

We should still have either the Latin version (neutral, easier for singalongs) or the trap remix (to dance to) as an officially-official EU anthem, but "Wir betreten 
trunken" still slaps so hard, always.
