Musical Interlude: All the news about deportations....and the callous attitude toward the safety of those being deported...brought this song to mind. The lyrics were written by Woody Guthrie, and set to music by Martin Hoffman. It's about a real-life disaster in 1980; look up the Los Gatos crash and you'll read the horrid details.

My project of remastering older recordings sees a second release some time soon. The song is called “Hold Me Tonight” and talks about the damage humans are doing to what surrounds them, and what that does to the individual.
Have an excerpt of a climactic bridge part with a rap done by myself and two guest vocals, plus a brief moment of the chorus with a grand guitar solo by a friend.

The phrase "El pueblo unido jamás será vencido" has its origins in a 1940s speech by #Colombian politician Jorge Eliécer Gaitán. In 1970s #Chile, Unidad Popular protesters adopted it, and #SergioOrtegaAlvarado and #Quilapayún made an iconic #ProtestSong out of it in the #NuevaCanciónChilena genre, just months before #Pinochet began his murderous #dictatorship.
I am admittedly hardly a guitar player at all. Just slightly better at guitar than my cats.
