How are people’s experiences with #Proton? Only interested in Mail. Been using it already for about 2 years, but idk how I’d switch to it as it seems like you can only forward emails from Google to it? (I use outlook primarily rn).

@Daojoan @SpaceLifeForm Really enjoying my #proton stuff for my business. I won't think on the guranteed security _too_ hard, but I know MANY of the boys at #porkbun and they don't stamp their approval on nothin' unless it works as advertised. Got Proton Drive setup with rclone too!

My thoughts:
I love that Proton apps are open-source, this is a big win for me.
Server-side Encryption - In theory this is a good idea, in practice this is a huge pain. On mobile, you're forced to use the Proton app, which is unbelievably slow. On desktop, you cannot verify senders with DKIM. Proton leadership supports what Trump is doing to the US, while not my reason for leaving, it gave me doubts about Proton.
Now when IT services from USA might be inacceptable, toxic, inappropriate, simply bad, I cannot just switch to @ProtonDrive because it doesn't support Linux... #shame #proton

A company truly outside Us Jurisdiction does NOT have terms and conditions concerning Us Customer and Us Laws, because they do not need them, because they do not apply to them. The same way, they do not need to include the other 200 or so, nations around the world.
It is rocket science. This is not hard to understand.

Do you see Proton cite terms for Japan or Korea, or any other friendly nation? No, because Proton is only subject to the laws where they are a registered business. Proton only (and others like them) worries about the ones that apply to them, and they include the United States of America for a reason.
