I agree. Because, as Coldplay says with "when you get what you want but not what you need", of course, we want a Happy Ending *for us* IRL, but, even though we might not like to admit it, many of us like fictional drama. Going through hardship makes the ending feel "earned" through the character journey. It makes us feel more connected to them when we've been with them in both good times and bad ones

Colin: Honestly, I quite liked the one time when I was alone with Samuel when Mark and I were in Hamburg—well, *if* you'd consider that a date. Then again, maybe, dating women is better after all. I want children, you know, I don't want to be constantly seen as differnt. That date could be in public where I live. I couldn't do that with Samuel or another man.

Etwas komische Frage, aber nein – muss ich aber auch nicht.
Meistens ist der Fantasyaspekt ja eigentlich eine Metapher o.ä. für etwas ganz anderes. Natürlich ist es bspw. ein "cooler" Effekt, dass Balia Alexanders Seele in sich aufnehmen kann, viel mehr geht es aber um die zwischenmensche Dynamik und Interaktion zwischen den beiden.

Ironischerweise zum Schreiben meistens nicht. Da findet die meiste Vorarbeit im Kopf statt und wenn ich zum Stift greife, bin ich meist zu faul/motiviert, um was anderes als die Geschichte niederzuschreiben.
Beim Editieren lege ich allerdings parallel Charakter- und Plotbögen an, um mit dem*der Autor*in später unsere Perspektiven abgleichen können

#WordWeavers JAN-17 Do you prefer long or short works?
I'm not good at writing short stories. I once wrote #ArkanCotton and I might say, it's decent, but I usually really struggle with getting everything into just a handful of pages without it sounding dull and constructed. However, some would consider my long-form texts short stories compared to their novel-ish stories in length while mine are sure not short stories but around twenty bite-sized chapters.

I don't write to give readers what they want (not that what they want is even what they really need). Also, I won't hide what I firmly believe in and stand behind.
Not being "normal" is already seen as political, while being "normal" is seen as unpolitical, so interesting characters are essentially doomed to be even slightly political.

November. Everyone's doing #NaNoWriMo during that time, it seems. So, everywhere around me, people share that they write daily and the challenge implies that you can and have to be productive every day, which just doesn't work for me. So this isn't helping for me—on the contrary.

Arkan Cotton hates people. He might make an exception if there was a second Arkan Cotton, though, displaying traits, Arkan Cotton could be at eye level with. But maybe not. You want to be around two Arkan Cottons even less than being around one of their kind anyway.

Kinda. Over a decade ago, when I was still in school, I wrote a story for an exam in which the protagonist was writing from exile about what happened (I kid you not): #Trump became president and soon after, the #AfD won the German federal elections.

Honestly? Writing at all. I brought my #WritersBlock from 2024 with me into 2025, so I just gotta hope, we part ways rather sooner than later this year.
