We are forever circling the sun on this spinning sphere, a feat of cosmic choreography. It’s a wonder we aren’t perpetually dizzy. Or perhaps we are, and we’ve simply adapted to consider it normal. The gravity of the situation, after all, keeps us grounded—quite literally. I often wonder what people thought about the universe before we discovered planets, solar systems, galaxies, and the vast expanse beyond. Back then, it was all firmament, waters, and heavens—oh my. We’ve come a long way since, though not all of us, perhaps. Speaking of progress, did you know astrology and astronomy share a historical connection? Fascinating, isn’t it? C.<p>The current ~~craziness~~ stupidity originating in D.C., resulting in the dumbest trade war in a century, does at least illustrate one thing that I think more people should reflect on.</p><p>Politics isn't a (meaningless...) team sport like football or hockey or whatever.</p><p>You shouldn't "pick a side" and then support everything that "side" does. You shouldn't automatically denigrate everything their opponents do.</p><p>You shouldn't assume that one side is "good", and the other(s) are "bad".</p><p><a href="https://mindly.social/tags/Politics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Politics</span></a> is <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/ideology" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ideology</span></a> to some extent, but it's also people, with all the messiness, squishiness, contradictions, and shades of grey that <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/people" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>people</span></a> necessarily bring to the table.</p><p>You can generally agree with the <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/beliefs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>beliefs</span></a> and actions of a political tribe, but be horrified by some of their positions or actions. Or just not be too enthusiastic about them.</p><p>The current situation shows this, to me, very clearly:</p><p>Justin <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/Trudeau" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Trudeau</span></a>, over the last few years, showed himself to be unprincipled in many respects, a hypocrite in others, and an aimless empty suit in yet more areas. I was disgusted with his performance, both as a political leader, and as our Prime Minister.</p><p>However... in this dumb dustup provoked by the USA's First Felon, he has obviously found something within himself that he has not shown us in a long time, if ever. He's showing resolve, <a href="https://mindly.social/tags/principle" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>principle</span></a>, the willingness to endure and suffer for the greater good, and an unwillingness to bow to evil.</p><p>It's okay to like him for this!</p>
Bug Hunter Cat<p>I distrust almost everything, especially when it comes to humans. I distrust people aligned with ideologies or beliefs, but also those who say they don't believe in anything. I distrust those who have no ethics or morals, but also those who do. <br>Humanity loves conflict, wars, power struggles. Every era of history has had its own great conflicts, wars, revolutions and social confrontations. And every conflict has at least two sides, it's always about "us and them." <br>If you are one of those people who takes sides in every conflict, you are living in a delusion. Wherever there is conflict, there is someone stirring up trouble, someone making waves so that you do not see the reality.<br>Your hate, your outrage, your fear, and all the mental turmoil that all of this generates in you, generates millions in profits for someone. Leaders, the media, experts in almost everything, They have you on your ass all the time fearing for your life and your dignity, day things are being stolen from you while you think you are fighting and advocating for idealistic causes invented to distract you.<br>Distract yourself from what? From the peaceful life you should be living. François Bayrou asked the investigating judge for a meeting at his place. The discussion was around the risks for the Bayrous' son, then a student at the boarding school. François Bayrou's wife attended the director's funeral in 2000.</p><p>At Parliament, on 11th February 2025, François Bayrou was representing the government for the weekly question-and-answer session. Bug Hunter Cat<p>How easy it is for many people to feel "part" of a herd and take refuge behind the arguments of that herd to spew out their stupid unconscious slogans. With complete frivolity they use old and anachronistic qualifiers against their supposed "enemies" whose true meaning they either do not know or interpret in a nebulous way.<br>I read people calling anyone who doesn't 100% agree with them a "Nazi" or a "fascist." He also calls "leftist" or "woke" anyone who opposes his absurd interpretations.<br>But herds are like that and it is known that quadrupeds run faster and multiply more.<br>It is becoming increasingly difficult for me to navigate social media without having to read such nonsense. Because politics, ideologies, beliefs and group tendencies are just that, herds, unconscious masses and movements, individuals who have lost critical and independent thinking.<br>Let's see... Many times one wants to read about topics of interest (maybe one should browse websites and not networks) and ends up having to read about meager political opinions.<br>I know that everyone is waving the flag of freedom of expression. But many of these expressions, insults, fights and proselytizing of idiocy and violence are equivalent to shitting in public.<br>Just as you read it, when you put yourself in that position of following a flag (which by the way are always of violence) you are shitting in public, it is the same as if you take off your pants in the street and shit. <br>Twenty years ago I stopped watching TV for good for similar reasons.
