A government that #censors also risks losing the trust of its citizens. In a #democracy, the legitimacy of the government rests on the consent of the governed. If people believe that their government is hiding information, manipulating the truth, or suppressing dissenting voices, they will lose faith in their leaders & in the #democratic process itself. When a government #censors information, it controls the narrative & restricts the flow of ideas, thereby stifling dissent & preventing the public from making informed decisions. This concentration of power is dangerous because it leads to a situation where the government, rather than the people, decides what is true, what is false, & what is worthy of public attention.
