#Trump meets #Corporate America as economic fears nip #stocks

Trump will meet the CEOs of America's biggest companies Tues, many whose market value has dipped in recent days as #recession & #inflation fears soured #consumers & #investors.

My guess? He’ll say, “Don’t worry, you’ll make it up in the tax breaks I’m giving you, + you can still hike your prices, make more money off your customers & blame immigrants! Hahaha!” [evil laugh]

#Corporate #welfare at its finest: #TysonFoods fixes #wages and still gets #government #handouts. Oh, and let’s not forget their #factory #farms allow #birdflu to keep spreading. It’s time to #TalkAboutTyson

#Tyson has been reporting increasing #profits while getting millions in government awards ($115.3M in Q4 2024 according to USAspending.gov) and fixing both prices and wages for their workers to be as low as possible.

This lawsuit alleges that Tyson purposely coordinated with Cal-Maine Foods, the company that purchased one of the shuttered plants. Because of this, farmers were prevented from continuing their operations with a Tyson competitor. After the lawsuit was filed, Tyson asked the court to compel the farmers to reveal all contacts and conversations with the USDA and journalists. Attorneys believe this to be an intimidation tactic. Tyson is one of the biggest players in the global meat-processing market. In 2023, the company was one of the world’s most valuable food brands. A majority of Tyson’s sales come directly from consumers. DID YOU KNOW? 🤔 Tyson processes one of every five pounds of chicken, beef, and pork sold in the United States. Because they control so many brands, avoiding them can be hard! 🍟 Tyson supplies every McDonald’s chicken nugget. They’re also responsible for much of the meat served in schools and fast-food chains. 🧑‍🌾 Nearly all of Tyson’s farmers are independent contractors. This means that farmers bear the lion’s share of financial risk and responsibility, leaving many to feel like “indentured servants” on their own land. 💰 According to Violation Tracker, Tyson has paid over $100 million in penalties for price-fixing or anticompetitive practices. 🗣️ Imagine if we replaced the major corporations that control our food system with better ones. We could demand healthier, more nutritious, and more sustainable food. The power is in our hands. Can you #TalkAboutTyson? What’s your story? #Starbucks Just Gave Its #Employees a blunt message. Ready for more #corporate #intimidation ?

Right….so this has nothing to do with you raising the #prices to the point that #customers don’t want to buy your #coffee anymore.
#Consequence in this capitalistic environment? Lay offs ! Want to beat lay offs? Intimidation ! Work harder slaves ! Then maybe Starbucks will spare you your job…..oh by the way, this pro corporate article spins this as “masterclass leadership “ 🤣

Inc · Starbucks Just Gave Its Employees a Very Blunt Message, and Taught a Key Leadership LessonThe biggest takeaway: When you're a leader, you have to lead.

A #corporate #coup is unfolding in the U.S.

In recent months, Elon Musk has increasingly acted as an unelected power broker,
using his economic and political might
— including his influence in the spheres of telecommunications, militarism and artificial intelligence
— to undermine democratic institutions
and reshape the government in his own image.

Musk’s influence extends far beyond the private sector.

His power manifests through private ventures that dictate public policy
— from X’s (formerly Twitter) control over the public conversation
to Starlink’s role in global conflicts.

His satellites control critical military and civilian communications.

His companies, including Tesla, StarLink, SpaceX and StarShield, (SpaceX’s military subsidiary), are deeply embedded in national security infrastructure,
-- while his growing AI and data collection through X gives him unprecedented political sway.

Now, Musk is openly using his wealth and influence to stage what can only be described as a corporate coup.

Musk is effectively seizing federal spending and usurping the congressional power of the purse
with his newly created “Department of Government Efficiency.”

🔥Musk is positioning his private empire as the backbone of an authoritarian takeover in the U.S.

With Starlink increasingly playing an outsized role in critical communications infrastructure,
Tesla’s surveillance systems tracking intimate data
and AI-driven disinformation sourced from X flooding the media landscape,
Musk’s coup is not coming in the form of tanks on the White House lawn
— it is happening in boardrooms, data centers and the back channels of government contracts.

🚨BREAKING: The Department of Justice *still* wants #Google to sell #Chrome — because apparently, removing a core product is the hottest new trend in #corporate restructuring! 💼 Meanwhile, Google's response has been a deafening "LOL" as they continue to swim in their money pool like a modern-day #Scrooge #McDuck. 💰

WIRED · The DOJ Still Wants Google to Sell Off ChromeBy Lauren Goode

There are work styles. Styles apply to a localised company, where most of managers, technicians and blue collars have similar backgrounds, speak the same language, live and experience the same countryside. A work style grows spontaneously on a territory, on its people.

But a CEO can impose their style to the company. And when a CEO is a stranger in a strange land (Cit. Iron Maiden) also the style will be a stranger's thing (too many references here).

In my experience this is only functional to CEO's ego. Not the employees', not the company's, not the corporate's.

I'm not denying the value of diversity, just that imposition and lack of humility don't play in the inclusion team.
