Evening Friendlings 💕

Of course, I didn't have a lazy day. A walk beckoned, which turned into a lovely long stroll around the valley and many photographs. Just got back and am looking forward to a hefty portion of fish and chips

I'll just share the corvid pics to start with, and also share a link to a video of a peaceful, calming stream where I had lunch, to soothe your restless spirits

Love to you all 😘

I heard him land on the balcony and eat the peanuts there. It's the first time he does it so late in the day.

I'm not really sure what is happening. Either he's very weak and possibly hurt again from a fight with an eagle or an invader. That's the negative interpretation. Or (to be more positive) he knows the eggs are about to hatch, so he's not eating in order to save food for the hatchlings??? No idea.

I'm home tomorrow, I'll keep a close eye on the nest.

#CrowUpdate
When I checked the nest this evening, Ms Crow was being pretty active in it. It seems that she was rearranging things (the eggs? padding?) before getting ready for bed. The eggs should hatch any day now, not sure if this is related or is she does that every evening.
Mr Crow's behavior was a bit unusual today. He was on the lookout for most of the day, but he definitely looks exhausted.

And a few minutes ago, Mr Crow looking exhausted on top of his lookout pole. He's not perched, he's sitting.

(the eggs should hatch any day now. I won't see the babies for another few weeks, but I'll be able to tell when both Mr and Ms Crow will make constant trips to and from the nest)

The welcoming "committee" when I got home today.

At first I was a bit worried, it's rare to see him hanging out on the ground, and see how his wings aren't properly "set."

I guess he must tired from yesterday's wind? (later on, he was on his usual lookout these days).

Oh and good news, finally (after how many months?) he grabbed peanuts from the plastic box. Maybe soon, I'll be able to leave them unshelled on the balcony without risking the sparrows to steal them.

#CrowUpdate Nothing special with Mr and Ms Crow. She's in the nest, while he's on the lookout and a bit bored when there's nothing special.

However, today I'm bringing back pictures of the crows-by-the-sea. First Mr Crow-by-the-sea. Yesterday, as I went for a walk, I saw a crow in the "buffer zone" that quickly flew north. I think it was him, as he was waiting for me at the usual spot. A few days ago, I noticed something funky on his wings (both), see on the picture.🧵⤵️
