Initial release of the #immich upload daemon is ready for people to use and report the tons of issues it probably has lol. You can find it here github.com/luigi311/immich_upl Feel free to open any issues/PR. Its still missing the charging only option but the networking features are there so you can set wifi only and/or SSID checking and you can even just check for metered connections. Mostly developed on my and for my #FLX1 via remote vscode.

A couple of years ago I fell out with #gmail and migrated to privateemail.com

I've now fallen out with privateemail and decided to selfhost (again).

Now running #postfix, #dovecot, #rspamd and others via docker-mailserver. Had to use #smtp2go for outbound due to relay issues.

Also selfhosting #radicale for calendar/contacts and #immich for photos.

So far so good ... seems faster than I had before plus #opensource. Need to let it bed in a bit and keep an eye out for errors.

Linux TodayImmich 1.130 Released with Massive Speed Gains | Linux TodayImmich 1.130, a self-hosted photo and video backup solution, is here with a folder view for mobile, faster timelines, and massive external library scan speed boosts.

How to ditch google photos, and set up your own photo storage (with all the same fun face matching and editing capabilities) with Immich.

Immich does require a Unix-based operating system like Linux or macOS. At the minimum, you'll want 4GB of RAM, but the team recommends 6GB or more. At least two CPU cores are required, but four or more are preferred, too.

How-To Geek · How I Ditched Google Photos and Built My Own Photo ServerGoodbye Google.

I installed Docker on a laptop so I could use #Immich, because #Nextcloud Photos is slow and keeps getting my IP addy softbanned from my new non-US shared hosting.

I was nervous.

But it was very easy.

It pulled Immich!!

I added my first folders of images... It was FAST! AND IT'S PRETTY!!

Hurrah!

Please note, this stuff didn't exist when I was a youngling and I am not a coder.

@pjf thankyou so much for mentioning it a little while back. I didn't realise Docker was so easy.

Next to get everything off of #GooglePhotos, get my phone sending everything to Immich, and learn & make backups of all on a Raspberry Pi!
