Sunguramy :nb_lily:
Keep fighting for the Earth, it is our only home.

Caves are a space highly at risk, and many species in them can be "canaries in the coal mine". #MarshMadness day 21
Two little isopods, Lirceus sp. They are not technically from a marsh they are from a spring, but the spring was rather tiny marsh-like so I am counting it.

Right now I am trying to get people to step up for our environment as the public comment period draws to a close on removing the National Environmental Policy Act. This will effectively destroy almost all environment protections in the United States. If you were worried they will destroy the National Parks for profit, rest assured this is the first step. By removing NEPA, they *will be able to*. Easily.

Please, go leave your comment (federalregister.gov/documents/), call your senators and congress, and keep fighting for nature.

Cuilcagh (Karst 🌍)

Cuilcagh is a mountain on the border between County Fermanagh and County Cavan. With a height of 666 metres it is the highest point in both counties. It is also the 170th highest peak on the island of Ireland, and Ireland's only cross-border county top. Water from the southern slope flows underground until it emerges some miles away in the Shannon Pot, the traditional source of ...

#MonochromeMonday

We have these amazing karst canyons all over the island & on several surrounding gulf islands. Large karst networks of caves & canyons are found in Cowichan Valley, Comox Valley & all through the less populated North Island. Karst sites on Quadra Island & some islands in the Discovery Islands archipelago are being researched. Haida Gwaii has big karst formations network.

I find #geological #karst formations very fascinating. I enjoy exploring them when there's an opportunity to do so. I've found ancient old growth tree crystals in some of the karst formation forests here - they're magical, magnificent & hard to find if you're not looking hard in the right areas.
