Film still from ‘Blau’, a stop-motion animation film (11:45 min.), now on view in kunstruimte Block C @Kunst14a.

For this film, I had the opportunity to collaborate with sound animator Wart Wamsteker, who knew how to create sounds that would resonate beautifully and profoundly with these visuals, and musician René Duursma whose enchanting and experimental soundscape carries the while picture.

The film will be screened as part of an exhibition, in which drawings, leporello’s, booklets, collages, film stills and a diorama that were made during the working process will be presented.
The exhibition will be on show until April 26th 2025.

@Kunst14a is open every Friday and Saturday from 1pm - 5pm and by appointment.

A small shrine in the shape of a Gothic church window with a realistic paper art beetle surrounded by floral embroidered green fabric.

Macro of the beetle which is long, quite flat and reddish brown with black legs. Pink, red and blue embroidered flowers. The beetle is build from handpainted paper, the legs are made with finest wire and black thread.

Macro of one of the pink flowers: They are machine-embroidered. The fabric was waste: it comes from saree production in India, the cuts from the machines. All my shrines look precious but are made with waste.

I have spent the night updating my little Ko-fi shop with some handmade journals and Japanese paper dolls I made this week.

My love of pink has blossom in the last five years or so. I think I’ve always loved pink, but when I learned it was the color for girls when I was four or five years old, I decided I hated pink. But now I love pink… in my art at least. And another rabbit appears in yet another one of my collages… maybe. It hasn’t been glued. What do you all think?
