Today's historic photo of the day: 4908 in Candy livery sits in front of the workshops at Bathurst, NSW, January 27, 1986.

Bathurst, 240km west of Sydney, is Australia's oldest inland European-settled town, having been founded in 1815. In early colonial days it was the administrative centre for the Western Plains region of NSW.

#Southeastern and #Hornby have unveiled the Railway 200 ‘Javelin’ high-speed #train at #Margate station to celebrate the 200th anniversary of passenger rail services in the #UK. The special livery features iconic landmarks across Kent and the South East, marking the region’s connection to high-speed rail. 395015 is the first to showcase the #Railway 200 graphic, with more #trains to follow. The unveiling, attended by local businesses, highlights the transformative impact of high-speed rail, which saw over 15 million journeys in the last financial year. Hornby has also released a model train pack to commemorate the event. High-speed services, launched in 2009, have boosted connectivity, economic growth, and social mobility across #Kent and #London.

#Trenitalia #c2c has extended its partnership with security provider #Amulet for another five years, with an option for two more. This builds on a successful collaboration since 2011, focusing on passenger safety and experience. By 2016, Amulet provided full security services across c2c’s 26 stations. The partnership won the 'Partners in Expert Services – Public Sector' category at the 2019 PFM Awards. With c2c’s growing focus on safeguarding, evidenced by its White Ribbon accreditation and investment in internal teams, the new contract strengthens shared values. The partnership also includes initiatives like safeguarding campaigns, local recruitment, and fundraising for charities. New contract additions include tailored training, mental health first-aid, body-worn cameras, and continued community and social value commitments, such as green spaces, security apprenticeships, and #railway safety programmes in schools.
