Yet Iran, which signed the NPT, allowed IAEA inspections, and maintained a civilian program, is still sanctioned, smeared, and threatened with “military consequences” for even asking for peaceful nuclear rights. But the crown jewel of this hypocrisy? Israel. The region’s only actual nuclear-armed state, built in secret, outside the NPT, funded by the U.S., guarded by silence. No inspections. No accountability. No outrage. Just 90+ undeclared warheads and a doctrine of ambiguity wrapped in U.S. vetoes. Iran says de-nuclearization of the Middle East means Israel too. And they’re right. But instead of addressing that, Washington props up the apartheid arsenal in Tel Aviv, gifts reactors to Riyadh, and treats Iran, with no weapons, no invasions, no colonial footprint, as the global threat. If Iran housed its nuclear facilities in Dimona and flew a blue star flag, it’d be a “trusted partner.” This isn’t about nonproliferation. It’s about monopoly.
